Beef Stew In A Dutch Oven

There are 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. They each have a name. They all have a history. And they all have their own, unique charm. 2.7 million people call these neighborhoods home.

Speaking of home…we have a new one. We also have new offices.

We moved to a Chicago neighborhood called Ravenswood and both our home and office are located on Ravenswood Avenue. Our commute to work is now 2 blocks. Lucky us.

The Ravenswood neighborhood is considered one of the up-and-coming arts and innovation districts. Spread up and down Ravenswood Avenue are many unique businesses housed in old, converted buildings that were once light manufacturing entities. Our offices are located in what was once a power company. The big, old brick building has been gutted and converted into modern offices with wooden floors, brick walls and vintage touches reminiscent of the power company that once served the community. We even still have the power company smoke stack rising out of the top of the building. Of course, it’s just there for looks now.

Ravenswood was conceived in the late 1800’s as one of Chicago proper’s first “suburbs.” We are 48 blocks north of the city center. When elevated trains and street cars became the norm for transportation, Ravenswood was no longer considered a suburb; it became a thriving part of the city of Chicago.

Some of Chicago’s more famous residents live in Ravenswood. Our mayor, Rahm Emmanuel lives in Ravenswood. Our infamous ex-governor, Rod Blagojevich has a home in Ravenswood. His wife Patti and his girls still live here as they wait for Rod to get out of prison...
