Dessert -- Macaroons


4 cups almond slivers
1 and one third cups sugar
8 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 Tbsp. butter

Grind almonds with sugar in blender. Beat egg whites with vanilla and then gradually add to almonds/sugar mixture. Rub butter on two baking sheets. Spoon 1 Tbsp. of batter onto baking sheet for each cookie. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove cookies from baking sheets and allow to cool.

The Skinny: Use your favorite sugar and egg substitutes.
