CORONA, Calif. (UPI) -- A California girl employed the skills of her pet German Shepherd to help pull a tooth that had been loose for months.

‎Carlos Vasquez shared video of his 10-year-old daughter Sidney to their family dentist's Facebook page, as she attached the loose tooth to a piece of string and had the dog attempt to pull it out.

"Normally our favorite dentist - Dr. R James Richardson does Sidney's dental work since he is the best dentist... And the only person the kids trust...But since it's Sunday and his office is closed - she enlisted her German Shepherd to help with the extraction," Vasquez wrote.

At the beginning of the video Sidney explains the items needed for the unorthodox extraction including dental floss, a harness and a dog who "knows you and loves you very much and doesn't want to hurt you."

In addition to being rid of the pesky tooth Vasquez also promised that Sidney would get a new phone for attempting the experiment.

Sidney can then be seen tying the floss to the dog's harness before throwing a ball to send the German Shepherd running and ultimately pulling the tooth loose.

She then proudly displays her smile, before rinsing out her mouth and searching for the newly extracted tooth.

After successfully ending the "tooth drama " Sidney gladly recommended the method to anyone with a tooth as loose as hers was.
