The commom name of this flower is buttercup. I believe the botanical name is cinquefoil, and refers to the five(cinque)petals (foil.The pictures and description can be found in several herbal books. See "The Herb Book" by Dr. John Lust.

Hello. My Grandparents' pasture used to be loaded every spring with these. They are called buttercups!
