Sometimes, when things are going well, one moment of inattention can ruin things. For example, I this game, Black was winning. He played 10…c6? instead of 10…Nc6! How did things go downhill very quickly from here?

Solution:

The game went like this--Linder-Krugljakov, Moscow, 1965:1.e4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5 3.e5 d4 4.exf6 dxc3 5.fxg7 cxd2+ 6.Bxd2 Bxg7 7.Qh5 Qd4 8.Nf3 [8.0–0–0 Qxb2#; 8.c3 Qe4+ 9.Be3 Bg4 10.Qg5 Bf6 11.Qc5 Nd7 and Black is better] 8...Qxb2 9.Rd1 Qxc2 10.Qd5 c6 [10...Nc6]
