OK, you have an overwhelming position. It’s time to put this guy away. What do you do from here?

Solution:

This was from a correspondence game in 1943 between Alford and Jackson in Ireland. There were many possibilities, but the main line is the most fun:

1.dxe5 Qe8 [1...Qc7 2.e6+ (2.Nxc7) 2...Kd8 3.Nxc7 Kxc7 4.Bxc6 bxc6 5.Ba5+ Kb8 6.Rc1 g5 7.Rxc6 h6 (7...Nxc6 8.Qc7#) 8.Rxc8+ Kxc8 9.Qe8+ Kb7 10.Qb5+ Kc8 11.Qd7+ Kb8 12.Qc7#] 2.Bxc6+ bxc6 3.e6+ Kd6 4.Bb4+ c5 5.Qxe8 Nxd5 6.Bxc5+ Kxc5 7.Rc1+ Kb6 8.Qc6+ Ka5 9.Qxd5+ Ka4 10.b3+ Ka3 11.Qa5+ Kb2 12.Rc2+ Kxc2 13.Qd2+ Kb1 14.0–0# [14.Ke2#]
