If you are a long time reader and didn’t see the first move or even consider it, you might be saying, “Hey, you always say look for all checks, captures and forced moves, so I did, and didn’t see anything.” I always say that, indeed; however, “Threaten mate in one” has also appeared here in one form or another. Here especially it is good because of the bishop’s indirect attack on h7. If you did see the first move right away, did you consider the two key alternatives and did you see all three mates to the end?
