This position is the beginning of a mating attack, and every move in the solution is a check. The key is that the Black king is sealed off from escaping to the other side of the board.


Solution:

For those of you who saw it all the way through, especially the pawn and knight checks, bravo! If you didn’t get it, look at the diagram again and try to visualize the solution in your head. Keep trying until you can do it without looking at the printed solution. That’s the learning key to all these problems, by the way.
