ArcaMax Publishing, Inc. Debuts at 19 in Media Category on Inc. 5000 with 205.2 Percent Growth Rate

ArcaMax Publishing has joined the ranks of America's fastest growing private companies with a debut rank of 19 in the Media category and 1,560 overall of Inc. 5000's annual business rankings. The e-mail content provider increased revenues by 205.2 percent, qualifying it for the prestigious list of private businesses.

"We are very pleased to be ranked among such a successful group of businesses," said Scott Wolf, ArcaMax Publishing CEO. Other companies on the Inc. 5000 list include consumer electronics maker Vizio, Internet giant GoDaddy, rental car service Zipcar, and beverage maker Honest Tea.

ArcaMax Publishing provides syndicated features such as news and comics to more than three million e-mail subscribers daily. The content provider earns revenue with advertising that accompanies the daily features. Content is available in English at ArcaMax.com and in Spanish at ArcaMundo.com.

In May, ArcaMax Publishing launched BookDaily.com, a book sampling site featuring more than 60,000 book samples available by email for readers to enjoy -- free of charge. The site immediately received industry recognition, attracting 10,000 subscriber accounts and 50,000 email subscriptions in the first 60 days.

Methodology

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2008. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2 million. The top 10 percent of companies on the list comprise the Inc. 500, now in its 28th year.
