Blair to Stewart: I like George Bush
Appearing on the popular Comedy Central series this week, the British politician told Stewart he always liked Bush despite the Republican president's declining popularity worldwide, The Times of London reported Saturday.
"Here's something I find always goes down well, particularly back home: I like him," Blair said during Thursday's broadcast.
Ever the comedian, Stewart was quick to retort regarding the leader of his nation.
"I would probably like him too, if he wasn't in charge of me," Stewart told Blair.
Blair, who is set to teach a Yale University course called "Faith and Globalization," also spoke about the public opposition to the war in Iraq.
"None of this is easy, OK," he told Stewart when pressed on the issue.
The Times said Stewart did praise the former prime minister for his open stance on such opposition when compared to critical responses from top U.S. officials.
"You could never run this country buddy, I'll tell you that much," he joked with Blair.

Tammie,
If you think it's tough now, just wait if Obama is your president. The price of commodities, like gasoline, aren't going to decrease significantly. On the other hand, Obama has already promised you a tax raise, so if you thought you didn't have much money, wait until the Dems take more from you and give that to the poor and indigent who don't want to work. Obama is the agent of change, from Republican to Democrat, is the significant change he's interested in. Other than that and taxes, you won't see a tremendous difference, other than maybe France liking us. For all I care, France can hate our guts!

Tony Blair
He doesn't have to live like normal people do. We are in the worst shape now as far as the economy goes. I wish some of the people in the white house would trade places with us and see what it is like to live in the real world. They don't have a clue. If John McCain wins the presidency we will have another four year of Bush. Working people can't handle that.
