NEW YORK (UPI) -- Ruslana Korshunova's grieving boyfriend said he
doesn't understand why the Kazakh supermodel apparently committed
suicide in New York.
Korshunova, 20, apparently jumped to her death Saturday from the
balcony of her Manhattan apartment, police said.
"She was doing good. She was one of the top models. She was happy with
this," Mark Kaminsky, Korshunova's boyfriend, told the New York Daily
News. "We decided right away, we were a good couple. I was in love."
Kaminsky said he met Korshunova through a friend in March and,
although Korshunova moved into Kaminsky's house in Staten Island two
days after she met him, she kept her luxury Manhattan apartment, as
well, the newspaper said.
The model reportedly mentioned feeling "lost" in her adopted home in
messages she posted online.
"I'm so lost, will I ever find myself?" she wrote in a March posting
on her page on a Russian social networking site.
A close friend told the Daily News Korshunova disliked how hectic her
life had become since she gained success in 2005.
"I guess, suddenly, she was no longer a new girl. She was depressed
about that," the friend said. "She'd made her money and she wanted to
get out of the modeling business badly."
