Ex-government worker allegedly used county credit card to buy a tuxedo for her dog

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (UPI) -- A former employee of an Arkansas county is facing numerous charges for allegedly using a government credit card for personal expenses -- including a dog tuxedo.
The criminal complaint against Kristi Goss, 43, a former administrative assistant to Garland County Judge Rick Davis, states she used a county credit card for $200,000 worth of personal expenses.
Goss allegedly used the card to pay her bills and make purchases including clothing, a diamond bracelet, nearly $1,000 worth of Arkansas Razorbacks tickets, school lunches, pet insurance, and a dog tuxedo from Amazon.
Davis fired Goss after an auditor noticed discrepancies on the card in May and an Arkansas State Police investigation was opened in July.
"I hope for swift justice in this situation and hope a message has been sent to all that any and all misconduct and noncompliance with county policy and the law will not be tolerated and appropriate actions will always be taken to bring justice," Davis said in a statement provided to The Hot Springs Sentinel Record.
Goss is facing seven felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. She faces 3-20 years in prison for each count.
