TOKYO (UPI) -- A Japanese company has developed an "armpit fan" to help keep people from sweating in the heat of summer.

The miniature, clip-on fan, or Under the Armpit Cooling Device, developed by Japanese company Thanko allows users to cool themselves down by circulating cold air through their clothes.

According to Rocket News 24, the fan can be clipped onto the user's shirt sleeves to blow air at three adjustable speeds to keep people cool.

The clip can also be clipped to the neckline of a long sleeve shirt or to the the waistband of a pair of pants to circulate air to the lower body.

The fan can be powered for five to nine hours by two AAA batteries or alternatively by a USB chord attached to a computer or a battery pack which is sold separately.

A set of two fans can be purchased on Thanko's website for 3,800 yen ($35).
