ALESUND, Norway (UPI) -- Residents of a Norwegian coastal town stacked wood into a 156-foot-tall tower to break the record for the world's tallest bonfire.
A video posted to Facebook by Bypatrioten Alesund shows residents of Alesund stacking wooden pallets high into the sky to beat the bonfire height record of 141 feet, set in Slovenia in 2007.
The stack was set ablaze Saturday night for the annual St. John's Eve bonfire.
The fire was fueled by more than 30,000 pallets.
