SONOMA, Ariz. (UPI) -- SweePee Rambo is a sight to see, with her bowed legs, oozing sore and a tongue that protrudes out the side of her mouth. So impressive is this 7-year-old Chinese Crested Chihuahua that she won this year's Petaluma's World's Ugliest Dog contest.

The contest, now in its 28th year at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, paired 15 of the most malformed pooches around to compete in the prestigious pup competition, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The dogs are judged on bad appearance, a host of inherited or acquired maladies, stench and even complexion.

SweePee had it all going, with her mohawk and diapers. Blind in both eyes, the 4-pound pup has always had the heart of her owner, Jason Wurtz, 44, of Encino, Calif., who called her a "ride or die chick" in his contest paperwork.

Participants voted on line for their choices, viewing photos and a description of each dog.

When SweePee's name was announced as the winner, Wurtz's brother, Jeffrey shouted her name, crying all the while and holding up his homemade sign that read "SweePee Rambo for President 2016."

Another dog sported a gold tuft reminiscent of a certain presidential candidate.

"Whether you love him, or loathe him, a vote for Himisaboo is a vote for a dog that looks like Donald Trump," said Heather Wilson, Himisaboo's owner, who drove to the contest from Idaho. This was Himisaboo's fourth time in the contest.
