VIDEO: Trail camera captures footage of massive gator

RAVENEL, S.C. (UPI) -- A camera captured up-close footage of an enormous alligator at a park in South Carolina as it wandered the trails.
Caw Caw Interpretive Center County Park shared nighttime video of the gator, which took up a majority of the screen as it made its way past the camera.
Facility manager Thomas Thornton told The Post and Courier that the park's wildlife cameras have captured footage of a number of animals, but could not remember it recording any gators in the past.
"We put the wildlife camera out last night and we caught all kinds of critters," he said. Certainly the most exciting thing was that alligator walking right by the camera.
He added that there were many gators on the grounds at the time, as it is mating season for the large reptiles.
"It's alligator time. There are at least two sets of little baby alligators out here," he said There's at least one out here that looks like a dinosaur.
While not sure if the gator caught on camera was the massive gator he was referring to, Thornton confirmed that it did look "very big."
