LONG BEACH, Calif. (UPI) -- A flurry of extreme weather in the Los Angeles area managed to topple a giant chicken bucket from the top of a local Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant.

Strong winds from a thunderstorm on Monday sent the massive bucket crashing into the ground near the drive-thru of the Long Beach KFC location.

No one was injured in the incident, but some witnesses did notice that the giant bucket did not contain any chicken.

"It didn't smash any cars over here so we feel very lucky," the restaurant's owner Shahid Chaudhry told CBSLA.

Chaudhry said that the restaurant and the drive-through remained open throughout the day and that he planned to have the fallen bucket removed and eventually replaced.

"It's sad," he said. This is our trademark. We love this sign.
