CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. (UPI) -- A visitor at Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Complex in Florida captured video of a manatee poking its head out of the water to grab a snack.

The video shared to Facebook shows the manatee reaching out of the water to grab some low hanging shrubbery at Three Sisters Springs.

"This hungry manatee in the Three Sisters Springs was enjoying a snack of Spanish moss during high tide," they wrote on Facebook. He was using his flipper to climb higher and you can get a good look at the nails on his flipper.

Onlookers marvel at the manatee as it repeatedly emerges from the water to grab bite after bite of the moss.

Three Sisters Springs was temporarily closed on Monday after 300 manatees huddled together in the springs notoriously warm water to avoid colder temperatures in surrounding areas.
