RICHMOND HILL, Ontario (UPI) -- A Canadian man was arrested after calling police to help start his car while intoxicated.

The 27-year-old driver called York Regional Police around 2:30 a.m. to ask for assistance with starting his car.

The police report says that the caller could hear the engine revving in the background over the phone.

When police arrived, they discovered the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the road with the driver displaying "obvious signs of being impaired by alcohol."

The man was then arrested and taken into custody where he was subjected to a breath test, blowing over the legal limit of alcohol.

He faced two charges of Impaired Care or Control for attempting to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
