Police officer in riot gear takes on black widow spiders

GOLDEN, Colo. (UPI) -- A Colorado police department shared a photo of an officer in full riot gear taking on "a suspicious party," a group of black widow spiders.
The Golden Police Department said in a Facebook post Officer Emily Carreno donned riot gear Tuesday night after a black widow spider was spotted in a police headquarters hallway.
Carreno discovered the spider was one of several "invading the premises" and bravely exterminated the offending arachnids.
"For the safety of all of us, we are not posting pictures of the invaders," the department said.
The department said another spider was spotted in the locker room, but that arachnid escaped before it could be squashed.
