New York's dancing crossing guard boogies through the heat

NEW YORK (UPI) -- A New York crossing guard whose dance moves made her a viral star said she is not letting the hot weather put a damper on her spirits.
Ester Hines, who has served as a New York Police Department crossing guard in Brooklyn since 2008, said she doesn't let the heat stop her from putting a little boogie into her work.
"I love my job and I love people," Hines told WPIX-TV.
Hines said she keeps her cool during the hot summer days with her simple mantra: "Smile and dance."
The crossing guard rose to viral fame in early 2014 when a passerby shared video of her keeping warm in the frigid winter by busting a move. A number of YouTube videos have since emerged showing Hines entertaining pedestrians while ensuring their safety while crossing.
