SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (UPI) -- No, it wasn't a run-by fruiting.

Police in California have released photos of a man in women's clothing dubbed the "Mrs. Doubtfire bank robbery suspect," a reference to the 1993 comedy starring the late Robin Williams.

The Santa Cruz Police Department said the purse-toting man, dressed in a blond wig, navy blue scrubs and a light purple long sleeved shirt, used a note demanding money to rob a U.S. Bank branch about 3 p.m. Friday.

The suspect, who did not display a weapon, was seen "acting suspicious" at a Rabo Bank about an hour before the robbery.

"When the bank employees contacted the suspect they were surprised to see that although the suspect was dressed like a female, the suspect was actually a male. Hence the title, the Mrs. Doubtfire bank robbery," police said.

Police said the suspect was "possibly casing the bank" during his visit to Rabo and left without committing any criminal act.

The man was described as between the ages of 25 and 35 and was wearing prescription glasses at the time of the robbery.
