Give me a sec: Round-the-clock Twitter tallies time

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (UPI) -- It's high time somebody came up with the idea: an around-the-clock time-track Twitter account.

Alltheminutes searches Twitter to find any mention of time, then retweets the posts for every minute of the day.

It's similar to artist Christian Malclay's 24-hour film, "The Clock," which is a collage of scenes from thousands of movies that refer to real time as the movie plays. Here's a sample, but you're supposed to watch it four minutes after midnight to get the full effect:

All the Minutes' creator Jonathan Puckey said his project is an attempt to tell the story of a single day a minute at a time. The project was originally part of an exhibit at the Van Abbemuseum in the Netherlands.

"It's interesting that these days people choose to speak about exact minutes in relation to their lives," Puckey tells the Atlantic. Almost as if they could be doing something different every minute. As if every minute counts.

The Twitter site isn't as effective as "The Clock" in reflecting real time because there can be delays as users post a comment and when it's retweeted. There's also the issue of different time zones. A spin-off site adjusts for time zones.

Another problem is that it usually deals with just ... time, unlike The Clock, which is spiced up with cinema drama like Big Ben chiming at midnight or werewolves coming out in the full moon.
