WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (UPI) -- Pennsylvania police said a woman who showed up "highly intoxicated" at court on a DUI charge was busted for public drunkenness.
Wilkes-Barre police said Helen Chancellor, 47, was "highly intoxicated" when she appeared before District Judge Martin Kane at 10:14 a.m. Thursday for her arraignment on multiple charges related to a DUI stop May 29.
Chancellor rode to court in a taxi, police said.
Police said Chancellor was cited for public drunkenness and held in a jail cell until she was sober.
Chancellor is due back in court Nov. 14.
