Mom creates 'Ignore No More' app so kids will call her back

HOUSTON (UPI) -- A Texas mom was so annoyed that her children were ignoring her calls and texts that she took it upon herself to create a cell phone app to make them respond.

Sharon Standifird developed the Ignore No More application in order to let parents remotely lock the phones of their non-responsive children. Once the phone is locked with the app, the child has to call a parent-approved contact to get a password to unlock it.

"We need to develop an app that just shuts their phone completely down and they can't even use it," Standifird told CBS New York. And I started -- literally just started researching how to develop an app.

When the phone is locked, the child will still able to call 911 in case of an emergency.

"Ignore No More is an easy to install app that gives you control over your children's phones. If your children ignore your repeated calls and text messages to reach them, you simply lock their phones until they call you back," according to the app's description at the Google Play store.

The application costs $1.99 and it is only available for Android phones.
