GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (UPI) -- A Michigan court has had massive difficulties getting a 625-pound bomb threat suspect to appear.

Suspect Jeffery Klein initially did make it to Kent County Circuit Court after he was accused for allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat at a Cedar Springs mobile home park in 2012.

The 44-year-old reportedly confessed to police that he made the phony threat because he was angry about fines that park management had given him, MLive reported.

Once Klein was outside the courthouse, he claimed he was ill and went to the hospital. The next time he appeared, Klein again fell ill after being told that he was facing 15 years in jail because of his habitual offender status.

Klein has yet to appear before Judge Dennis Leiber again because he is now bed-ridden due to his weight. There is a warrant for Klein's arrest, but his 5-foot wide bed would have to be transported to the courthouse via an ambulance and brought to the courtroom in a freight elevator.

Klein's attorney, Damian Nunzio, estimates the trip could cost as much as $3,000 and is hoping to see the charges against his client dismissed.

Leiber still wants Klein to come and face the music.

"This case is exceeding old and involves a defendant who is exceedingly large," Leiber said of the 2012 case. This simply cannot continue.
