LEWES, Del. (UPI) -- A Delaware man with a sweet tooth was linked to an electronics theft after he was caught red-handed with a stolen ice cream cone.

Lewes police officers observed Richard Walls backing out of a parking spot in the Taramino Place Apartments with a flat-screen television, cable box and other electronics in his vehicle.

However, it was his "frozen vanilla fudge drumstick ice cream treat" that caught their attention, CBS Philly reported.

A previous burglary victim had already told police that a frozen ice cream treat had been taken from his freezer, in addition to the TV and cable box, Master Cpl. Gary Fournier told the Cape Gazette.

Other apartments in the area showed signs of forced entry, but none had been breached.

Walls was charged with three burglary offenses, theft and criminal mischief.
