A great Friday puzzle because it’s a gem by Paul Keres back in Kemeri, 1937. It’s good to be a grandmaster, but you have to know what you’re doing.

One thing that makes stronger players so good is their ability to recognize simple patterns in complex positions. Even novices know how to back rank mate. Keres recognizes the position as a back rank mate and proceeds accordingly. Then, it looks simple! 1.Qh6 Re8 2.Rd8+ Rxd8 3.Rxd8+ Kxd8 4.Qf8+ Be8 5.Qxe8#
