A little while back we showed you a mating attack Chigorin missed that is somewhat similar to this position. It, too, is a mating attack. Don’t miss this one!

Solution:

The position was found in the Chess Training Pocket Book by Lev Alburt, and the solution is in the same theme as the Chigorin game where you have to get that king exposed so you can bring the proper forces to bear. Seeing the queen checks (yes, they move backwards!) are keys as well: 1...Rh1+ 2.Kxh1 Qh7+ 3.Kg1 Qh2+ 4.Kxh2 Nf3+ 5.Kh1 Rh8#
