Actually I have. I have traveled a lot, in the US and in Canada, and that is one reason that I know we can't let the insurance companies continue their death panels and rape of our economy, with no controls.

If they don't jump ship, they expect to be rewarded with huge bonuses for their muckups, while the rest of the country suffers. If their where truly any honest leaders in business, with any honor about them, then I could agree with you on unions. Ain't gonna happen though!!! Where are the truly honorable,moral and visionary business leaders like the late R.G. LeTourneau when America needs them.Their certainly not coming out of our colleges and universities anymore.

As for Casey42 -- no I have a brain. I don't need unions to tell me who to vote for, what to I can vote for; and I do know that unions have outlived their usefulness. This is not 1900 any longer.

Considering that the government policy of waste, fraud and inefficiency is tied into the holy mantra of don't interfere with profits, it is obvious that if we change that, rein in the insurance companies, refund Medicare properly, the whole thing could pay for itself, and work for everyone. Until you tackle the consumerism, where more is better, more waste, corruption and fraud makes more money for some high up, nothing will make any significant difference. It isn't about availability, or whether government run will work. Nothing works under our current system.

I have a couple of friends who are doctors and have a son studing to be a doctor. Each of these young doctors told me personally they would cut their hours practing if Obama's proposed tax schedule for those who make 250K+ is put in effect because working for the government is not thier cup of tea, they have better things to do.

How does a debate on health care descend to the old "unions are evil and workers don't deserve representation" debate? I would bet everyone of you has a neighbor that is a union member (unless you live in a million dollar condo) and sit next to one in church from time to time. You will find union members on school boards, city councils, feeding the elderly through meals on wheels, volunteering as firemen or ambulance attendants and in general being good neighbors. You hate them because you have been told so often by the RNC what evil people they are and like good lemmings you go where you are led.

I have escorted people to the airport to board a regular flight back to Canada because they had a heart attack in Florida and Canada would not authorize care for them. We will go ahead and pay the costs for kids but we draw the line at adults. Two out of eight of the patients I have transported died en route to the hospital in Canada. One on the flight, one from the C. airport to the hospital. Do not know about the rest of them. We made it very clear to the Canadian board that they were very likely to die withing 48 hours if they did not get open heart surgery. We were told they would get "tablets" in Canada. This means nitroglycerine and go home to die. They routinely tell patients to come to the USA and wait in the parking lot of the local hospitals until they are too sick to send back to Canada. Then the Americans will pay for their care.

Tell me, are we going to end up hanging out in parking lots in Mexico?

WE have a lot of Canadian vacationers here! Some are my friends! They have told me that all is not as it seems---those with "connections" beat the system! Union leaders and politicians get immediate healthcare! And of course the rich come here! One friend read the first version of the democrat "Obamanocare", he said it isn't anything like Canada's! "It looks like a communist takeover of everything and everybody". It's not simply socialism---it goes beyond that! Well if we can defeat ACORN (in it's many disguises) and get rid of the demorats, maybe we can depose the would-be dictator, and if it's not too late, save what is left of the country!
