White to Play and Mate in Six

Pete Tamburro on

Published in Chess Puzzles

Yes, mate in six is a bit more than we usually do. In this challenge, however, look on the bright side: as White you only have to move one piece!

Solution:

1.Qc5 Kb3 2.Qc2+ Ka3 3.Qc3+ Rb3 4.Qc5+ Rb4 5.Qd6 Kb3 6.Qd3# An absolutely delightful problem by Wolfgang Pauly. Even simple moves can tax your brain in chess.
