Officer finds, returns $3,100 cash
Artie Mandato, owner of the Main Event entertainment firm in Manalapan, N.J., said employee Jose Castilao was driving back home Friday from the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill, Pa., when he lost track of the black leather folder containing the $3,100 he had collected earlier in the evening, the Harrisburg (Pa.) Patriot-News reported Tuesday.
Castilao returned to the club and scoured the parking lot, but could find no trace of the missing money, Mandato said. He said the employee eventually began his defeated drive home, but his spirits were lifted when Mandato called him during the drive to say the money had been found.
Camp Hill police Officer Lane Prior was getting ready to watch for speeders early Saturday when he saw the $100 bills and a black leather folder blowing around the Camp Hill Bypass. He collected the items and found contact information for Mandato in the folder.
"(Prior) went out of his way to do research and figure out whose it was," Mandato said. "He even stayed off duty after his shift to meet Jose when he returned to pick it up."
Camp Hill police Chief Gregory "Jan" Ammons also praised Prior.
"We reunite owners with property all the time, but not like this -- $3,100 of cash money blowing down the roadway," Ammons said. "It speaks well of the officer. He did a good job."

High praise for the officer. Many years ago I left my wallet on top of my car and drove off. The officer that found it took for himself $150.00 reward. I finally got it back (was rent money) with a bit of a shortage. I admire anyone that is
honest. I wish all of the people I know were.
