HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (UPI) -- Paula Creamer shot a 9-under-par 69 Sunday and won the Samsung World Championship at Half Moon Bay, Calif.

Creamer finished at 9-under 279 for the eighth title of her LPGA career and fourth this season.

Song-Hee Kim closed with a 68 and ended up a stroke back at 280.

World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa, winner of the Samsung event the past two years, shot a 69 and tied for third at 7-under 281 with Julie Inkster (68), Suzanne Pettersen (68) and Angela Stanford (70).

Creamer grew up in nearby Pleasanton, Calif.

"I've always said I wanted to win in front of my hometown fans and those that have supported me from when I was a little girl," she said.
