COL FB: Ohio State 26, Ohio 14

COLUMBUS, Ohio (UPI) -- Ray Small's 69-yard punt return for a touchdown Saturday helped third-ranked Ohio State overcome upset-minded Ohio 26-14.

OSU led only 19-14 when the junior wide receiver sprinted out from a pack of players, ran to the outside and scored his first touchdown this season, giving the Buckeyes (2-0) some needed breathing room with 5:57 remaining.

They trailed 7-6 at halftime and 14-12 in the fourth quarter.

Dan Herron scored once and finished with 12 carries for 50 yards. Maurice Wells added 48 yards on nine rushes and Ryan Pretorius kicked two OSU field goals.

Freshman backup quarterback Terrelle Pryor rushed for 37 yards on five carries, and starting signal-caller Todd Boeckman completed 16 of 26 passes for 110 yards.

The Bobcats (0-2) got a touchdown on 11 rushing attempts for 63 yards by Donte Harden.

Backup quarterback Boo Jackson rushed for 55 yards and passed for 86 with three interceptions, while Curtis Meyers recovered a third-quarter fumble in the end zone.
