Tiger, Elin Woods say second child coming

ORLANDO, Fla. (UPI) -- Tiger Woods wrote on his Web site Tuesday that he and his wife, Elin, are expecting their second child.

"Sam is going to be a big sister," Woods wrote, referring to Sam Alexis Woods, who was born June 18, 2007. "Elin and I are proud to announce that we are expecting our second child in late winter."

Woods pointed out this year has been one of contrasts, ranging from a "solid start to the season," the dramatic playoff victory at the U.S. Open and "then unfortunately had to shut it down after successful knee surgery."

He said rehabilitation allowed him time to spend with Elin, watching Sam grow, making the injury a "blessing and a disappointment."

Woods ended the message with, "I'm already starting to wonder if Sam's sibling will be a boy or a girl."

Woods is the world's top-ranked golfer. Even though he hasn't played since the open in mid -June, he is atop the year's PGA money list with nearly $5.8 million won.
