MLB: San Francisco 8, Chi. Cubs 3

SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum ran his unbeaten streak to 13 starts Thursday and drove in a run as well, helping the San Francisco Giants beat the Chicago Cubs 8-3.

Lincecum (10-1) was staked to a 5-0 lead through two innings and wound up lasting six frames, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out eight. His only loss this season came April 29.

The Giants produced four runs in the second, when Lincecum singled home Jose Castillo and then scored on a triple by Fred Lewis. Rich Aurilia added a three-run homer in the seventh.

The loss went to Sean Gallagher (3-4), who surrendered five runs on four hits in five innings.

San Francisco and Chicago split a four-game series.
