D.C. United forward Luciano Emilio was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Month for June Tuesday for posting seven goals and an assist.
With 10 goals this season, Emilio is tied with Edson Buddle of Los Angeles for second place in goals in MLS. The Galaxy's Landon Donovan leads the league with 11 goals.
Emilio, a 30-year old Brazilian, had his first MLS hat trick when D.C. United beat Red Bull New York 4-1 June 14.
Emilio, who scored 20 goals last season to win the Most Valuable Player award, has nine goals in his last six games.
