Cargo jet crashes in Colombia, 2 dead

BOGOTA (UPI) -- A cargo jet bound for Miami from Colombia crashed into a house in Colombia, killing a farmer and a 12-year-old child on the ground, officials said.

The jet's eight crew members were believed to have survived the crash near the town of Madrid, The Miami Herald reported.

The Boeing 747 was carrying flowers. It was a Kalita Airlines flight operating for Centurion Air Cargo, Marc Henderson, a spokesman for Miami International Airport, told the Herald. It had left from Bogota's El Dorado Airport.
