Age has a lot to do with it also. An older female may have the problem because she is older. There are pills to help with this. Natural dog food has preservatives in them just as others do. There is no do food on the market that absolutely healthy for your dog or cat. Making your own is the only sure way of making sure the animals gets what it needs and I dont see many people doing that.
