Marie d'Orleans-Longueville was the daughter of Henry II, and married
Henry, duke of Nemours when she was in her early 30s. She is best
known for her involvement in court life in the 17th century, which she
documented in a series of telling memoirs. Left childless after her
husband's death, she spent the better part of her later years
contesting her inheritance with her stepmother, Anne Genevieve de
Bourbon-Conde.
