Franz Kafka spent a great deal of his time in school promoting
theatrical and extracurricular events. Despite his fear of appearing
repulsive, which shows up as a theme in his later works, he was
considered very friendly and charming by his associates. He spent
most of his life suffering from tuberculosis and complications
thereof, and so produced very few pieces of writing - only a few short
stories. After his death, he asked that his manuscripts be burned;
however, his lover, Dora Diamant, destroyed only a few and hid the
rest - there are still investigations being conducted to find these.
