Einstein is arguably the most famous scientist and thinker of our time. He was born in Germany, and moved with his family to Italy as a youth. He claims that pondering the theory of relativity, even when he was a child, led to his slow mental development. After finishing school, he went on to take a job at the Swiss Patent Office, during which time he earned his doctorate and began writing his first papers on modern physics. He achieved fame and renown during his own lifetime, and his name is still synonymous with intelligence and genius.
