Is Praying When You're Sick Worth the Effort?
By Billy Graham, Tribune Media Services
Q: I read an article the other day about a survey someone had done on
prayer. It concluded that it didn't do any good to pray when we're
sick, because people who didn't pray got well just about as often as
people who did pray. What would you say about this? -- F.M.
A: I didn't see this particular survey -- although I've seen other surveys that reached the opposite conclusion. Part of the problem is that not every prayer is genuine, nor is every prayer made in accordance with God's will.
More than once I've visited someone in the hospital whose case had seemed hopeless, but who was now recovering. The only explanation the doctors could give was that God must have intervened, in answer to the prayers of His people. This doesn't mean God will answer every prayer the way we wish He would -- but it does mean we ought to pray in times of difficulty, and we ought to trust God for the outcome. The Bible says, "Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
Why is prayer possible -- and not only possible, but of great comfort to us? The reason is because God loves us, and He delights in the prayers of His people. If God didn't love us, prayer would be a futile exercise. But He does love us, and He wants us to bring our burdens and cares to Him. The proof is that His Son gave His life for us.
Don't be cynical about prayer -- and most of all, don't be cynical about God. Instead, turn to Him and commit your life to Jesus Christ. It's the most important decision you'll ever make..

Let me first wish u a quick recovery from whatever ailment that is afflicting you now, it is well in Jesus name.
Then the answer to your question is YES! What do you have to loose? yet you have so much to gain and in the book of Ephesians 6:18 tell us to pray all the time with all kinds of pray. It is also said in the bible that the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much, and I'm sure some friends and family are interceding for you, so it is all good.
Please try and pray always, especially now that you are sick, though you haven't for some time now God is still a good God and will listen if you pray right. James 4:2&3, 5:16.
God bless you as you return back to the Lord.

Praying when you are sick
I am living proof that prayer does help youwhen you are ill. I was close to death in March 2003 and my pastor and friends came to the ICU and prayed with me and I did het well. I was sick for some time but i know in my heart that the prayers do help.
