Why Did God Make the Bible So Big?

By Billy Graham, Tribune Media Services
Q: I've tried to read the Bible but it's just too big and I never was much of a reader. Why did God give us such a big book anyway? -- Mrs. J.Z.

A: God gave us the Bible for many reasons, but one of the most important is to tell us the truth -- about God, about Jesus Christ, about ourselves, about how God wants us to live, even about the future. The Bible says God "has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him" (2 Peter 1:3).

I am reminded about a group of people who are mentioned in the book of Acts, from a town called Berea. They apparently had never heard of Jesus, but when Paul told them about the Gospel, they were deeply impressed. But before they accepted Christ, they turned to the Bible to be sure Paul's message was true: "They received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true" (Acts 17:11). We should have the same eagerness.

Don't feel like you have to master everything all at once. But set aside a few minutes and read a brief portion every day -- just a paragraph or two at first. I often suggest people start with one of the Gospels (such as John), because they bring us to the heart of the Bible's message -- which is Christ. Ask God to teach you something each day.

Then take advantage of other opportunities to learn God's Word. Pay close attention as the Bible is preached and taught in your church. Seek out a class or small group where you can discover more about the Bible. Above all, let its truth shape your heart and mind and life.

it's not that big.compared to books used in medicine, law, Canons, etc.God has written his commandments in our hearts already.we just need reminders-that's the bible, and the church jESUS founded.THEY ARE OUR VISIBLE GUIDE to God;s kingdom.when we die, we don't take them with us.we take God with us, in our hearts.so, we must prepare for that moment-death is sure, for it is our passport to eternal life, Amen.Read the bible while you can, live according to the church.teachings-Jesus own teachings, with the holy spirit's guidance, Amen.

we need only to keep God in our thoughts, words and deeds, by claiming His words of love and his commandments, each day we live.the bible is only a collection of His words, to guide us in this life.when worse comes to worse, we will lose our bodies, only our spirits will remain.if we have united our spirits with God thru His words and promises all our lives, then our spirits will resurrect with our bodies on the last day, and we will get our eternal reward-hopefully, heaven, where there will be no more tears, pain, work, or darkness.only life ha[ppiness forever, Amen.Let's read God's words, practice them, and spread it around, Amen.

Why God Made the Bible Big

First of all, this is the method satan uses to keep us from reading the Bible. But let's look at it this way: How about having to put something together you bought. You look at it and say "Boy, there are so many screws, bolts, parts, etc..." But if you take it just one step at a time, not looking at all the parts, putting it together, before you know it you have a finished product. Well, this is what the Bible seems like if we look at it as a whole. Starting with the New Testament: Ernestly pray to the Lord to help you to understand His message (always pray before reading the Bible)...Then take it one book at a time,(suggest John) one chapter at a time, and like Dr. Graham said, one or two paragraphs at first if you feel better by doing that. But, at first, read no more than 1 chapter at one time every day. This way you can think about what you have read. Join a Bible group from your church. "Ask questions" this is another way we learn..Write down the answers so you remember (or if you want to review)them. Do not allow satan to talk you out of sitting down and reading your Bible every day. Pick a time that you can be comfortable by yourself. Never deter from it. Satan will find every excuse to talk you out of this. You will feel so good about saying "No" to his temptation. Prayer is so important when reading the message of the Lord. The Bible is a way God talks to us. Sometimes you will say, "Wow!" I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless!

the reason they make some bibles so big is because a lot of people have trouble reading the small prints and they have to wear glasses to read thats why they make big printed bibles

I love the answer provided by Daddy Billy Grahams about the above named subject.
In actual fact God is a God of details leaving nothing of value that will benefit humans behind. He had to put in the Bible every detail of His will that will leave non of us with any excuse for rejecting His love. His word is so detailed, clear in expression, simple to understand for any simple mind.
The Bible says what manner of love the father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.
Get into His word today, and you can feel the love in your heart too.
