Do People Love Darkness or Light?

Q: Somewhere I heard that the Bible says people love darkness instead
of light. I assume this means spiritual darkness, but I don't think
it's true. I've been on a search for spiritual enlightenment most of
my life because I don't want to live in spiritual darkness. -- R.W.
A: You're probably thinking of the Bible's words in John 3:19: "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil."
What do these words mean? They refer to the fact that most people in Jesus' time rejected Him and turned their backs on Him. He was the Light, sent from God to show us the way out of our spiritual darkness; as Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).
And yet most people refused to believe in Him, because they wanted to continue in their old sinful ways rather than turn their lives over to God. As a result, they allowed Him to be crucified, and because of their evil ways they continued to live in spiritual darkness. Tragically, this still happens today.
I'm thankful you don't want to live in spiritual darkness -- and you don't need to, because Jesus Christ -- who was God in human flesh -- has come into the world. Why did He come? He came to erase the barrier that separates us from God -- a barrier caused by our sin. Don't look in the wrong places, but by faith turn to Jesus Christ and open your heart and life to Him. Only He is "the true light that gives light to every man" (John 1:9).

Say you were to go have some x-rays taken. And you knew that when you went to get the results that you were going to be required to take some medication and cut out the things you enjoy the most in order to get healed. Would you still go? Well I believe that their might be some that would not go and choose to continue to live in darkness than to go in search of the light of truth and make a change.

The first thing God created is light and it was good, and all mandkind can attest to this cos we do need the light to enjoy all the other beautiful things on earth. Also the new testment says that darkness cannot comprehend the light for when Light enters darkness flees.
