ArcaMax Publishing is a leading provider of family-friendly news and fun on the Internet. We send out over 70 features and more than 700 books to 3 million subscribers by email -- all free of charge.
Before we tell you more about our company, we would like to thank the millions of devoted readers for the great support in making ArcaMax a competitive business in the online market. We also thank the hundreds of devoted sponsors that make sure this company can pay the bills. It's the sponsors that make it possible for ArcaMax to offer its features for free.
A Brief History of ArcaMax Publishing
ArcaMax was founded in 1999 when the newsletter variety included recipes, pets and other home-oriented themes. ArcaMax expanded in 2004 to include a Web site to feature its free content. This was the first major step in promoting a higher level of flexibility in how content was viewed. RSS was added next and ArcaMax continues to evolve with the latest technology.
The business has seen many changes since then. To keep pace, ArcaMax has tripled its family-friendly line-up to bring readers more of the best syndicated and interactive features on the Web.
In 2006, the ArcaMax Book Club was launched and received national recognition from newspapers, radio and TV. The idea of sending a chapter per day to book subscribers was called "brilliant" by the Rocky Mountain News. KYW News Radio of Philadelphia, a CBS affiliate, told its readers "you'll find plenty of good reading here -- from Aesop’s Fables to Jane Austen and Edgar Allen Poe -- that will keep you well-read, as well as well-connected."
ABC affiliate WCVB-TV in Boston, eWeek.com, ContentBiz.com, Knight-Ridder campus news wire, the Daily Press of Hampton Roads, Va. and several other trade publications round out the media that featured the ArcaMax Book Club.
But it was the appreciative comments by readers that made the company staff most proud.
"My husband and I thank you for making available these books online free. We live at least 85 miles from the nearest library or bookstore, and deeply appreciate being able to read so many wonderful works," said Ardath Arnold, who has subscribed to many of the classic books offered.
ArcaMax continues to offer more. In 2007, ArcaMax added six new publications including: Religious News, Politics, UK News, Master Strokes, comic strip Cathy and Spanish Word of the Day.
ArcaMax would be amiss if we mentioned company history without mentioning a very famous cat. Several years ago, ArcaMax was one of the first Internet companies to offer the Garfield cartoon strip by email. Today, there are more than 900,000 subscribers to this publication alone.
The Subscription Process
ArcaMax Publishing is careful to ensure that each subscriber only gets the email he or she requests. This policy is integral to earning the trust of our subscribers. ArcaMax is also certified by Sender Scored Certified as well as Habeas, companies which specialize in making sure email senders are trustworthy and able to reach their customers.
The Future of ArcaMax
We will continue to look for more ways to serve our readers and form bigger and better partnerships with sponsors. Whether it's a new fun game, a columnist, or new comic strip, ArcaMax will do its best to bring more cool features to our readers. We will also look for more ways to make the ArcaMax experience more fun, useful, convenient and reliable. It is our goal to turn great ideas into reality...so stay tuned for more!
