Tales from the ArcaMax Chef

She Who Must Be Obeyed (my wife) started asking me questions about where we would relocate to while the floors were being repaired. I told her I really hadn't thought about it (which was true technically ... when I was thinking about running away I wasn't thinking about where "we" would be staying; I was thinking about where "I" would be staying).

She then told me She had a great idea. We could take the kids and the dogs and go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for a week. We could schedule the trip and the floor repairs around the kid's spring break. Since it was off season, we could get a huge house for a relatively cheap price.

It sounded like a great idea. All of our problems with the floor repairs could be solved with one trip and we could have a blast at the same time. The dogs would love to see the beach and, even though it might be too cold to swim, we could do lots of fun things on the beach and at local recreational facilities.

There was only one problem ... how I was going to get some sort of credit for thinking up such a great plan. She really came up with it on She's own and the closest I had come with any other plan was planning to run away. I could say I was thinking of the same thing but doing so and keeping a straight face would be difficult. After a few frantic seconds of trying, I finally gave up and said "That sounds great!"

She had convincingly won this round. I had to give it to She.
